My head is pounding as I open my eyes and exam my situation. That mother trucker kidnapped me off the side of the street like I was some helpless child. I sigh into the dirty towel stuffed into my mouth. Well that is just gross. I spit it out while feeling the knot my hands are bound with behind my back.

I’m tied to a chair in a dingy room that looks like a garage or something similar. The air smells damp and putrid like vomit. A lumpy stained mattress sits in the corner. And I can see where this prick has things headed in his mind.

The knots are easy to get out of. I walk around the room and find several different tools. I pick up one that is heavy and metal. And then I sit back in the chair and wait.

A short bald man walks in to find me still in my chair but unbound and ungagged. The surprise on his ugly face is a look I enjoy. I wait for him to speak or do something.

“You’re awake.” He walks over to a drawer and pulls out a syringe. He’s calm and looks like he expects me to freak out at any moment. He’s waiting for it.

I can’t handle it anymore. I burst out laughing. This confuses him and stops his steps towards me.

“Sorry.” I wipe my eyes. “It’s just too much. You kidnapping me. Ironic really.” A chuckle escapes me.

He must think I’m a nut. Either way, he decides now is the time to subdue me. He doesn’t make it another step.

It all feels like slow motion to me. I kick the syringe out of his hand and hit him in the head with the tool I found. He falls to the ground clutching his bleeding head, but he is still conscious as he looks up at me in utter shock and disbelief.

“Today is the last day you steal a girl off the side of the street. Unbelievable.” Another chuckle escapes me. “Dude, you kidnapped an assassin. And you just put yourself at the top of my list.”
