Red. I used to like that color. It reminded me of love and Christmas and Chick-fil-A. It was never my favorite color, but I liked it nonetheless. It kind of comforted me.

But now, as I watch everything go up in flames and blood spewing out of people, I can’t find any comfort in this sea of red.

I only see heartbreak and disaster caused by red. Red flames, red blood, red sea, red sky, red night. It’s everywhere. Taunting us. Laughing as the flames and blood rises and falls.

I can’t even close my eyes knowing that the red would make it’s way there as well. Into my dreams and nightmares. Into my pain and sorrows.

Red, consuming everything and everyone. Red, you can’t escape. Red, that’s it. Only, red.
