It just won’t stop.

There’s an itchy hum, a low buzzing noise in the base of his skull that rattles his nerves.

He’s heard rumours of it, but that’s all he chalked it up to. A silly rumour.

There was a segment about it on the news the other day. A phenomena scientists have dubbed the ‘Devil’s Murmur’. Such a dramatic name for something so simple.

He groans and rolls over onto his side, folding the pillow over his ears. Somehow, it only amplifies the buzz.

Surely, it can’t continue much longer…or could it? Apparently, a man went insane last week and jumped off the city’s bridge. All in a vain attempt to escape the buzz.

His heart speeds up, a terrified sickness pooling in his gut. If it continues on like this…he fears he might meet the same fate.
