The Vision

(I changed it up a bit.)

I closed my eyes. It was only a dream. I was not young anymore. Mama was far away from me to tell me bedtime stories of princesses and magic and witches.

But after I fell, time seemed to fast-forward or somehow teleport me to a new place. When I fell, all there was was nothing. Just black.

Then-suddenly-a worn cobblestone road. I saw a girl who looked just like me. Mama. The cobblestone road stretched across a field of flowers.

But soon, the field dissapeared. Buildings grew and soon it was the city she knew. But wait, I remembered that my mama told me a story of field that she lived by.

Then colonists came and built buildings. Mama had to get used to the city life.

The vision changed to her and a tall boy with dark hair and dark eyes and dark skin. Papa.

I had never met Papa. He ran away so many years ago. Then how did I know he was my Papa?

The city life changed again and Mama and a Papa were laughing. The buildings grew around them and they held hands. The cobblestone path ended where Mama’s childhood house was, but instead of that, there was a mighty castle, and the cobblestone was removed and placed with shiny marble.

Mama was crying. Her house was gone and she didn’t have anywhere to live.

She ran away with Papa.

I saw a baby girl. Me. Papa and Mama fought. I hear gunshots in the distance. Papa died.

A war had taken Papa away where he would fight. He didn’t survive a week.

Then I heard someone call my name.

I gasped for air, awoken from my dream, looking into the eyes of a man I had never seen before. I didn’t know if I was still dreaming but I knew that I wasn’t.

“Papa.”
