POEM STARTER
Compose a ghazal about a love that transcends decades, weathering all life's trials.
A ghazal is an Arabic poem that consists of a minimum of five couplets, with the second line of each couplet always ending with the same word. They are usually about the beauty of love in spite of difficulty.
Park
Just two little girls
Playing in the park
Pushing each other
In the swings
Giggling in the night
Just two middle schoolers
Gossiping in the park
Swinging in the swings
Joking about our peers
Rolling our eyes
Just two teens
Holding hands in the park
Twirling around
Kissing each other
Spending the night together
Two college students
Skipping around the park
As you get down on a knee
With a case in your hand
And I say yes
Two women
Getting married in the park
As we say our vows
Tears falling down our faces
As we say “I do”
