STORY STARTER
Submitted by Jewelie Rain
A fairy has to do something to gain their wings.
Write a story about what your protagonist has to do to receive theirs.
You’re not enough
Pixie dust and glitter,
into this glowing world
that you built
for me,
today they’re not enough.
Call me your angel pure,
give me magical kisses
and cry an ocean
for me,
and, still, it’s not enough.
You taught me words of love,
in whispers like spells, laid
in golden bedsheets
for me,
all you did - not enough.
They say my heart is sharp as stones
And you ignite my ice cold core,
An angel - will I never be,
Forget all that you did
for me
is not enough.
You’re looking down, for I am dying
broken, without my wings to fly,
you cut them off and built the cage
for me.
But I’m still flying.
Despite my tears,
Despite the locks,
Despite you’re cruel!
I gained a pair of dreamy wings,
a soul to fly - up to the sky, leaving behind
what’s not enough.
