A Stranger’s Malice
All alone in the room, I break to a cry,
I’m scared of the visions I saw in my dreams.
It comes with a boom, a crack and a whine,
I feel my intuition telling me to scream.
I let it out loud in a startling manner,
Though it feels good to finally let go.
Then I allow a look up to the sky,
Saw a face peering in and I yelled “no!”
The face has sharp, pointed, shiny teeth,
With blood and flesh overflowing.
Smiles at me like it’s hungry for more,
And lunges down to my fearfulness growing.
With a claw tracing over with lips,
Suddenly clapping my mouth shut,
I try to break free with a kick to the hips,
But it’s over, I’ll end up with bleeding guts.
“Don’t be afraid,” it taunts at me.
“It’s only me, your friend from the store.”
I recognize this stranger ready to pounce,
And with a smile, you promise to say nothing more.
