The end of the world

You say it’s coming soon

Very soon

And every time you take up this conversation

I panic

My heart drops

It feels like my world is collapsing

But you’re so

Happy?

And joyful

You’re actually looking forward

For when the trumpets sound

And when the world comes down in pieces

I wish I wasn’t so fearful of this

I wish I could be confident in where I’m going

And what I believe in

Just like you are

But even if I knew what was going to happen to me when I’m gone

I would still be terrified

Because I like this earth

I like the people on it

I think it’s beautiful

Am I the only one who sees that?

Am I the only one who’s

Afraid to die?
