Write a story with an unexpected twist.
Consider the length of your story. It does not need to reach the max word limit to include a twist. One sentence can be enough. Consider, too, that a twist is not always a revelation, but can be subtle.
Maybe You Suck
I could lie
And say I love the way that you do
But there is no such thing as a simple truth
And you only come around when you have a need
That needs fulfilling
And for some reason
That’s something I can do
But what do you do for me
Aside from betrayal
In every form
From my mind, to my heart, to my body
Regaining trust isn’t a simple thing
I love you
You used me
A tale as old as time
But I can no longer step aside
And brush it off every time you lie
