Night Lights
Lights flicker with the coming of the eve
The sunlight refracts against steep glass
The sky darkens with foreboding for the night
None notice how the days pass.
Lights blink in the feast of color
Silhouettes rush past shooting stars
Dusk’s gloom falls on the shoulders of the young
Oblivious, they carry the sky.
Lights sparkle radiantly in Nyx’s starry eyes
The moon bewitches those below
Burdens too heavy, they run for day’s sweet comforts
If only they could see it, they would know.
Lights shine from the empyrean above
Argent moonbeams caress the earth
Silence at last cloaks the world in her pearly sheen
The sun will greet them when they wake.
