Lessons From The Grave
Even the dead tell stories
Though it’s not a common thought
People tend to ignore the dead
Choosing to suppress these thoughts
But by looking at the dead
We can learn so much
We can learn to cherish life
To shower everyone with care
Just because their hearts no longer beat with life
Doesn’t mean they can’t tell us
Of the regrets they have in life
Perhaps when they died
They were full of sadness and regret
Wishing they could turn back time
And change the things they said
Or maybe what they regret
Is speeding up their death
Would a smoker not feel sad
Leaving his wife and three kids
So while they may be nothing more than bone
The dead can still teach us things
That we may not have always known
Though they cannot speak
Their stories are still told
Even the dead tell stories
And if you listen closely
You’ll hear the wisdom that they hold
