STORY STARTER
Submitted by Atlas
Write a scene that takes place during a thunderstorm.
The plot can be about anything, but the main scene of your story or poem has to take place in a thunderstorm.
Running.
The skies growl with ceaseless rage,
Hiding the sun from the world’s sight,
Clouds as dark as smog fogs above,
_Yet she keeps running…_
The trees rustle with the swift wind,
The thin leaves chatter amongst,
Gossiping about the droplets yet to fall,
_And how she’s still running…_
Rain_ _begins to pour down,
Gentle shards hitting the forest of grass,
Mixing with the salty tears on her face,
_She can’t stop running.._
Mud splashes from beneath her,
Tarnishing her dirty shoes, clothes,
Her head throbbing with pain and thoughts,
_Her mind is tired of running…_
_‘I know they’re after me,’_ she cries within,
As the world shadows around her,
Footsteps trudge not too far behind,
_It encourages her to run faster…_
She dares to turn her head,
Trembling at the figure in the distance,
Confused at its disappearance in a bolt of lightning,
_Her mind is running in delirium…_
The wind ruffles her butter hair,
The leave’s whispers now mocking her,
Along with the bitter grumbles over her head,
_Her chance of help is running away.._
Her heart is mangled,
Her body soaked and chilling,
There’s not a single safe place to go,
_So she has to keep running…_
