She Let Me Go
Testimony # 1 (hand-written statement by Anthony Evans )
It was the same scene every day, nothing ever changed, not a single detail. I always woke up in the same dark musty forest with nothing but groups and groups of the most grandeur trees you can imagine. I was always alone, cloaked in darkness with nothing more than the light of the glistening stars that hid among the trees. She knew my weakness and she went straight for it, every time. Most people would have been afraid to wake up in such a lonely scene. I however believe that I actually was craving it.
Funny thing is, I didn’t mind it, at first.
I found her intriguing, almost compelling if you will. I was captivated by her and eagerly willing to do anything she asked. I had no idea then that my absent-minded loyalty would end up being my saving grace.
Testimony # 2 ( Verbal statement from Ofelia Bennet)
“He was meant to be another part of my collection. Someone that I could control and play with whenever I wanted. He put himself in that position the moment he decided to mess with me. From what I could gather from his thoughts and his memories, he had heard stories about me and became so compelled he needed to find me. Sadly for him, he did.
I made his life a living hell by trapping him in a endless nightmare built from his fears and weaknesses. Funny enough, he rather enjoyed it at first. That was until it became all he would ever know. He desired a life of solitude until he realized just how lonely it can truly be. I simply gave him what he wanted, did it come with a price? Of course it did, and he was more than willing to pay it.”
Testimony # 4 ( hand-written statement by Anthony Evans)
She’s right about that one. I was willing to pay whatever price she wanted, and I did. In order to keep living in her nightmare, she needed to take my ability to communicate. That was until now, where I gained back the ability to write. I don’t know why now or how this even happened, but I suspect it’s Ophelia slowly losing her power over me. I can feel her getting weaker. You asked me earlier why I paid the price to live in a nightmare, truth is, her nightmare was my dream. But I don’t want that anymore.
Testimony # 5 ( Verbal statement from Ofelia Bennet)
“I’m sorry but that is too funny! He actually said he can feel me getting weaker, oh what a sweet soul that one can be. If you must know, I’ve decided to kind of loosen my reins a little bit. I need to make an example of him, and trust me when this is over all of humanity will think twice before they even try to find me. His warning should not be taken lightly. Now You’re truly going to see who has the power in all of this. This meeting of sorts has been interesting to say the least, I thank you detective for your time. Good day, and remember, don’t take his warning lightly.”
Testimony # 6 (Hand-written statement by Anthony Evans)
I was wrong about her losing her power. She proved that to me just five minutes ago. She instilled in my head a warning she wants all of humanity to know. In exchange for relaying this warning, she’ll give me my voice back and promises to set me free for good. I know what you’re thinking,”How can I trust her?” I truly don’t know , but I feel if I don’t do this, she can kill me whenever she wants, just with her mind alone. I don’t want that! So I’m just going to obey, like I did a year ago when she finally let me wake up after I promised not to run. So here goes nothing, I’ll relay her final warning or really my last warning. “Take my advice, and never mess with the witch when she’s alone in thought. For you will find yourself forever lost in her tortured mind.”
Testimony # 7 ( Verbal statement from Anthony Evans)
“She let me go.”
