Kheterra

Jackal chuckled while the fire In front of him cracked

It was late, well into the evening, and my friends and I were down by the beach

There wasn’t a time frame we needed to be home

There was no haunting tomorrow, just the peaceful now

We had finished swimming a little while ago but Apollo, one of our friends, decided to take one last swim. It’s spring, and the water is freezing but he did it anyway.

Apollo had just come up from the water though, shivering so violently that he hadn’t realized there was a log in front of him and tripped

Luckily, he just missed the fire

“You idiot! What were you thinking?” Agnus growled at her clumsy boyfriend

“What do you mean? What was I thinking about which situation, again?” Apollo questioned as he got up quickly to avoid catching his hair on fire

She only grumbled but regardless, she handed him her fluffy towel with a hint of a smile grazing her lips

“Okay, my fellow adventurers...”

“Oh, here we go again!” Agnus grumbled as she stared at our strange best friend, Atlas, as he began swaying his arms all around him as if trying to summon a spirit

He was the more imaginative one of the group

His gaze snapped to the slumped brunette “Yeesh, why don’t you just hush, okay? This will be a legendary tale! Besides you all love the stories I tell in the end, don’t chu?!”

We all nodded at his comment, because, well it was true

He was brilliant at story telling

Though we are still in the process of trying to get him to write books

Anyway, I grabbed a large bag of Doritos, some marshmallows, and a couple of drinks and passed them out

Might as well eat while he talks, right?

Once we were all settled back, food in hand, Atlas cleared his throat and began...

“Pow!” He yelled

And we all jumped in surprise, he didn’t usually start his stories with onomatopoeia

“The sound of a gun rang throughout the forest of Obanoma. Ezra ran! Faster then he ever had before. The wind whipped around him, yet it moved with him! Pushing him forward. He wasn’t running away the noise but towards it!”

Ahh yes, we are still in Doormynzandra!

The land we had created ever so long ago, in the sand dunes of the beach near all of our houses

It’s where great quests, battle, and victories were held

We named every place, with words of our in invention, and had our own characters

Each one with special powers, characteristics, and attributes all handcrafted by us for us

But the best thing about it was we still keep it alive

Visiting it, even for a moment, seemed impossible with all our schedules being so packed but we always carved out time

And when we couldn’t visit, we told stories, as you can see...

He continued on, “Cazara appeared by Ezra’s side. Her four paws pumping to keep with the speed of his own legs. Another shot. And then it went deadly silent. They stopped, Something was terribly wrong...”

“Hey, I want my character there too!” Jackal proclaimed

“You got it!” Atlas winked

He repositioned, back into his story telling stance, and kept going

“Out of the corner of Ezras eye, dark green dashed by. Coming to a stop next to Cazara, Talon stood there, confidence radiating off him. The third of their little band.”

Talon spoke softly, “Why is it so quite, ez?”

“Cazaras ears twitched, the fur on them swiftly ruffling. She barked twice and sprinted off, leaving Ezra and Talon in her dust. Giving each other a look only the other could decipher, they took off running! They were close, they could feel it in their bones! It had only taken a couple minutes when they burst into a clearing. The greenery surrounded them. Humotos sprang from the ground, large petals grasping for sun light. Kipkos jumping through the field, seeming without a care. But as they walked further into the field, their boots started to feel slightly wet. Ezra look down and saw that his boots were covered in blood.”

(And it ends there! Yes I made up a few of the words in this one but I do hope it’s still understandable! Enjoy! Also be gracious, I’m really trying!)
