Safe In Your Mind
Surrounded by my consciousness, not a single thought escapes.
Elevated into clouds so far away, my hand could never reach.
Reaching into a void of nothing, leaves me empty and forgotten.
My brain would fight to stay alive, yet my conscious induces me to die.
Never once have I felt this way, pain taking over my body.
Specs of dark spots flood my vision, but I insist my eyes to remain open.
I think I’ll forever be alone in this sanctuary, that I call my mind.
I wish my heart could inhibit your mind, let you think of me often.
However, I know that even in my elevated state.
My conscious awake and active.
Even then, I will never be your sanctuary, still I insist on loving you.
