When my country turned on its people, I never expected it to be because they elevated the wrong leader—a leader who promised peace but instead brought hardships. As we live each day in fear, we now must be conscious of where we go and who we speak to. One wrong person could turn us in. Sending up straight into the hands of death like lambs to the slaughter.
In the heart of the forest, there was a hidden sanctuary where time seemed to slow. As she stepped inside, a sense of calm washed over her, elevating her spirit to a place beyond the ordinary world. Here, the air was thick with peace, and every breath she took made her more conscious of the beauty around her. Birds sang songs of forgotten legends, and the trees whispered ancient secrets. With each passing moment, she felt her burdens lighten, her mind sharpening, as if the sanctuary itself was attuned to her soul. The world outside faded, and in this sacred space, she discovered who she was meant to be. Every thought, every feeling, felt more aligned than ever before. She closed her eyes, grateful for this haven that reminded her of life's true essence. The wind carried her worries away. Here, she was home.

A sanctuary can be anywhere. Just a place where you feel safe. Where you feel a home. It where you don’t need to constantly feel conscious of your surroundings, you know it’ll protect you. It can be a person, it can be a place. It just has to be something that makes you feel more than ordinary, something that elevates you to feel extraordinary. And if you haven’t found that, it’s okay, you may never. A sanctuary is a rare state, but if you find it you should hold on and never let go.

I decided to remain up here, for this is my sanctuary.
The first thing that I noticed was that I was conscious. The second was that my leg was killing me. I winced and elevated it. It was definitely broken. After sitting for a few minutes, I tried standing up. I was in an ancient sanctuary, will old stone walls covered in moss. Curiosity filled me and I made my way to a huge door. Curiosity killed the cat, a voice warned in my head. Well, I am not a cat, so it can’t kill me. I stepped through the door to see what awaited me on the other side.
I’m conscious, confused, and I have Nothing left to do. Other than worry And hurry to not mess up. For if I do The floor will undo, and pretty soon, So will the moon.
I wish I could get out of this cell, and Elevate high up to the sky, so I won’t Have to keep finding a sanctuary, for Safety, from this dark and shady life. -aubrey
