I’m praying to the lord, I’m facing the sky.

I’m praying to the lord, every day, just as the sun starts to rise, as the sun starts to set, as the sun is at its zenith in the sky.

I’m praying that this year, everything will go right. Maybe I’ll get a little richer, a little happier, a little wiser, maybe my family will get a little bigger.

I’m praying that this year, everything will go right. Maybe there’ll be less homeless kids, less conflict, less suffering.

My prayers go unanswered, but maybe there is a lesson in that, maybe there’s a reason, maybe an explanation that’ll come one day, or maybe it’s just not my turn right now. So I’ll pray every day, and I’ll keep going till one day, I see the light.
