The Fight

It was a Sunday night, and I was walking on the beach with my dog, trying to find my wife; when I looked down, I saw footprints. I started to follow those footprints thinking that it would be my wife, as I was looking for footprints I began to see pieces of her clothes on the beach, as I started to see more clothes I began to remember more and more about the fight we had a few days ago when she caught me texting another woman, she claimed I was cheating, but I did not cheat I was just texting a girl from work, but did not believe me, and from that point, she had filled for divorce and started to find a new apartment, she then went to the beach to walk and get her mind right, it has been 6 hours, and she has not come back so I got worried I thought that maybe she did leave and that it was over when I found the footprints I started to follow it hoping that perhaps I could talk to her and we could sort this out When I saw the end of tue fottprints I was dissapointed that all I could see was the ocean, that was the moment that my heart stopped and I started thinking the worst

maybe she drowned because she felt alone, or perhaps she got in the water and the surf got to her, but what was clear to me at that moment is that even if she was alive and even if those were not her footprints, she is never coming back and is all over, she has left me and there was nothing I could do. There was nothing that I could do to fix it; I stared at the sunset, recalling all the memories that we had made together, from the day we met at that party to the day we bought a house to the last time I saw her, I led her to her final rest in the water.
