She danced, her skirt spinning out along with her.

He stood off to the side not wanting any attention.


Both had long sleeves and pants.

Even in summer.


He finished his work days before needed.

She rarely could finish her work.


He sat at lunch with people he didn’t know, just blanking out.

She sat at lunch chatting and smiling.


No, like i said it isn’t a love story.


Little did everyone know

She went home and sat alone on the couch, curled up, and cried.

He went home and sat in the kitchen unable to eat.


She went to her room and tried to finish her work on time.

He went to his room and sat at his desk and started his work as well.

Both living alone.


She opened her laptop and tried to work. Her mind shutting down. Her mood never improved from the start of the day.

He opened his laptop. Started his work.


7 hours later.

It’s 2am.

He is still working on projects that the professor only mentioned. Never told anyone to do anything.

She was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling. Insomnia creeping over her. Finally crying herself to sleep.

5 hours later

Both show up to school.

Both have new scars on their thighs.

But—

Her smile is bright and upbeat as if last night never happened.

His shoulders back and confident, even though he didn’t think he did enough work.


Little did anyone know

This was a daily occurrence.

A time loop.
