POEM STARTER

Create a poem comparing feelings of love and hatred, and how they connect and intercross with each other.
Love And Hate
The bittersweet taste
Of your name in my mouth
Forms a toxic paste
In the back of my throat.
I never thought I could live
And hate
Someone all at once.
You’re like my white dove,
Carrying a message of pain.
These confusing feelings,
Why do they intertwine?
I hate you so much,
Yet I want you to be mine?
It makes no sense,
I’ve never felt so tense!
I can compare and contrast
These feelings of love and hate,
Sadly, I know they’ll last,
All I can do is wait.
I’ll wait until they fly away
To live another normal day,
Though I must say…
Even with my disdain,
My hatred,
My anger,
And my rage,
I want nothing more than
To call you my own.
There is a very thin line between love and hate,
Yet I landed right on it.
