Down The River

He’s paddling desperately to get away. The dark of the night does little to hide him from the prying eyes of his enemy. If he stops now he’ll surely be caught. Behind him he can hear the approach of the other boat, seemingly getting closer. He just needs to get far enough ahead to jump out and find a place to hide. But where? The idea started to feel hopeless. He rounded a corner and spotted another bend ahead. If he could get there fast enough he could jump out and run before they got to him. After the left he could continue on his way back to base to regroup. He was going to take them down one of these days, just not today apparently.
