POEM STARTER
Submitted by snoop
Write a poem about something getting washed away, either literally or metaphorically.
Drifting
Once upon a time
There was a sweet,
Happy,
A perpetually smiling
Little girl.
Sure,
She was strange,
As most are,
But she was loved.
Soon enough,
That happy girl was
Drifted away,
As one does.
She felt eyes everywhere
Judging,
And staring,
Even if they weren’t.
She felt alone
In a world of
Eight billion people.
She knew she was unwanted.
So, that little girl
Locked her
Strange self away
And went
Silent.
But even when you
Attempt to wash things away,
They’re never truly gone.
They’re somewhere,
Screaming
In the nothingness,
Waiting just to be
Discovered
Once again.
