The Writer
A black haired beauty
With the gift of words
Nose always in a story
Always the first
To jump before she falls
She couldn’t wait
To go live her life
In the bustling streets
Of the city of opportunity
Filled with everything
She believed she could be
NYC
She got an opportunity and took it
one day her name
Would be engraved in cursive letters
Across the front page
New York Times Bestselling Author it would say
But when she woke up all those dreams would fade away
No one could see her dream
The words she couldn’t live without
Then late one night
With the candle flickering in the dark
She brought a pen to paper
Determined to light that spark
And every night
After her 9-5
She’d sit and write
Under candlelight
Slowly pages turned into chapters
And characters turned to people
The notebooks grew fatter
With ideas full
A year passed, then two
She decided to take her life into her own hands
Instead of leaving it up to chance
She searched for someone
Who could change her book
From a story to a masterpiece
She was extatic
Worker day and night
Editing those beautiful words
She wouldn’t go down without a fight
Another year passed by
But the book was in reach
The pages ready to be smelt
Her words ready to be read
Soon the day came
Where her words lay
On cream colored pages
Alongside her name
