Beliefs
The roads were icy and the sky was stuffed with clouds of grey. The air was so still you could hear both of them breathing. You could especially hear her heartbeat beginning to pick up pace. She was becoming impatient. The man picked up his work boot off the young boys hand. It was already becoming black and blue. The young boy thought it might even be broken. The grown man extended his hand to help the boy back to his feet and demonstrate he was not the enemy. As the young boy stood up, incredibly smaller than the grown man in front of him. Despite his attempt to show he was there to help the young boy, the boy could feel the darkness lurking behind his almost black eyes. The girl was maybe an inch or two shorter than the man, but she knew what was necessary. If it was anyone else she would hold back, but this man is fully aware of what they’re capable. And still that knowledge could not save him. She had him incapacitated within seconds. He fell to the floor with a thud leaving the young boys speechless. He met her warm brown eyes, and that solidified he was with someone he could trust.
