Meteor

I didn’t want to move away from home, but fate seemed to decide it was time for a change.

Who knew it would be such torture, watching the thousands of stars from my bed. Watching the others fly while I’m stuck.

I get poked and prodded almost all day. My tough skin breaks apart at your needles.

I tried to fit in.

I really did.

I tried to meet them. To see them. To learn their names.

But they used me.

Used my skin.

Used my layers.

Used me.

So now I sit here.

Watching the stars play their games.

Far from home.

This is where I have to remain.

I will deal with your games.

Until I’m nothing but tiny pieces.

I never belonged here anyways.
