drove home with melodies I had memorized

no reason to be upset

until you opened your mouth

happy thoughts became irritation at anything

and everything you say

I walk away feeling less

I admit sometimes i like to feel bad

I like shutting myself into my own realm

where you don’t exist

but you are always on the other side of the wall
