When we rise up from the dead, our hearts broken, torn, & jagged

Clothes split in two, covered in the filth & grime of others’ words

The world will burn.

When we light the match & start the fire

W/ all the pride in the world

Show them what a loving community actually looks like

Out of spite, w/ surprise,

They’ll turn their heads & the look of shock

It scares me; is it worth it?

The world will burn.

The smirks of those who put us down

Blow out our spirits as candles so weak that we cannot stand up for ourselves

When they crumble away

Turn to dust & scatter

Met w/ open mouths of “wth?”

When all the negativity is gone

When we get to say “hey, we did it!”

When everyone can love who & how they want

Then the world will burn.
