“Who _really _are you?”

I knew I would have to reveal myself one day, and I thought I would be ready to. But infront of her?

Never.

Because I’m not the hero she thinks I am. I’m not the hero anyone thinks I am. I’m not a hero, period.

“… You know who I am.” I reply back, clenching my fists.

“No, I don’t,” Aelia retorted. She was too smart for her own good, she always used to catch on to me when we used to hang out together.

“Because Sunil wouldn’t do what you just did. He wouldn’t destroy a whole city like you did!” Her voice got higher with every sentence, tears threatening to come out of her chocolate brown eyes. “Who really are you behind that mask, trying to pretend as a hero, trying to pretend as _Sunil_?!”

“You’ve always known who I am, Aelia,” I said, voice breaking in the process. I knew this would be the last time I would ever talk to her, but I couldn’t get the three words I so desperately wanted to say. “You just don’t want to believe it do you? That the villain that destroyed your home, was your first love?”

I saw the emotion flash through her face. Confusion, sadness, doubt, anger.

I smiled sadly. I knew I had to leave now, I couldn’t bear to hear her response.

“Goodbye, love. I hope we never meet again.”
