Cold water feels warm when you’re freezing

A knife seems welcoming opposed to a noose

Blood feels nicer than a hospital bed

Pushing everyone away is better than scaring them

I’d rather cut than kill

My screams are silent instead of shrill

A friend is at a mental facility

I saw the deep cuts on his skin

Glad he’s alive

Didn’t know until today

That he almost died

I wish he would’ve reached out

Crying seems selfish

But anything to stay warm

Cutting makes me feel hopeless

But anything to stay alive.
