Doctor.. Strange?

“ Philip Radual, you are sentenced to a burning at the stake at moonhigh, whatever you say will not be accounted for, God hath mercy on us all!”

Uproar.

Applause.

Squeals.

Last but not least,

Me!

“ What?”

I looked to the governer.

He looks at me, an obviously apologetic look flashing across his face.

He doesnt really mean this, but apparently the crowd does.

_Pressure is one hell of a drug, huh?_

_“ Burn Burn!…”_

_“ Demon!…”_

_“ Has lord forsaken..”_

_“ Ye never should have been..”_

__

__

Even my own mother?__

__

__

So loud, truthfully, maybe this is a good thing.

Good god! I’ll be free from these lunatics!

Yet I still raise my hand for silence.

“ Whats the purpose?” I lift an eyebrow, and keep my chin up as the governer flinched. He couldnt really meet my gaze, funny.

He was silent, and just grunted in return.

Lets try a little experiment, shall we?

“ Governer, I think I speak for all of the people here,” I paused.

I awaited the crowds silence, head turning, and gasps of excitement awaiting the drama.

Drama truly is ALSO a hell of a drug.

“ Your_wife_can_read_! She_can_speak_other_Languages,_and_she_tried_to _get_ a_job_!” I blurted.

The gasps were louder this time, and they only came from the governer.

He stumbled backwards, clutching his black round hat in his fat fingers.

His yellow chins hung loosely from his neck, swaying as he gasped to himself three times again.

“ I renounce the Salem Witch trials! It is finished!”

The governer blurted, crossing his arms as if he were a small child in a fit.

Why was I almost sent to death that day?

No, I wasnt a witch.

I wasnt sort of spy.

Embarrassing enough, I was simply a doctor, my knowledge had apparently almost acted on my death, which I still repeat to my wife to this day.

.. And who’s my wife now?

The governers.
