When does a man become a monster?

Is it when he first tastes the apple of sin, or when he plants the seeds of that fruit in the earth?

When he contaminates the very ground he walks upon, is it then that scales form on his flesh?

When he can't scrape the blood from beneath his fingernails, is it then that the horns grow upon his head?

Does a man truly become a monster?

Or was the ground already contaminated by the apple tree?

Was the blood merely from trying to escape the earthly prison of flesh he's contained in?
