Super Powers, Friends, And Feelings

Sighing, my heart aches. I know I have to do it, Captain SuperTeen told me that we all were going to tell the one we hold dearest our identity, but it hurts. I wait outside Leo’s door, listening to the footsteps of sneakers and the padding of paws, his dog, Snickers, barking loudly at the door while I suspect Hazel the cocker spaniel, is following him around. “If it is the pizza, leave it at the door.” He calls. I smile, Leo is always ordering pizza, especially on our movie nights.

Suddenly, I step back and the door flings open, revealing Leo, with messy blonde hair and a T-shirt with blue jeans. “Oh, my . . .” He stutters, admiring my blue suit with a lightning bolt on it. I grab at my yellow gloves and smile nervously. “Hi . . .” Leo’s jaw hangs open, “y-you-you are . . . The LightningBolt!?” I smile, he loves superheroes, and comics, and maybe once I reveal my identity, me. “Leo.” Leo’s eyes widen, “you know m-my name?” He seems in shock, which is funny, because nothing surprises him, not even plot twists in movies or books. “Of course I know your name.” I grin knowingly. “How!?” He exclaims. I grab his hand, “It is me, Winter Ferrel.” Leo steps back. I fear he will hate me, but instead he hugs me. “Wow! How cool is that? My bestie? The LightningBolt.” He smiles proudly and I blush. “So, you aren’t mad at me for not telling you?” He shakes his head, “of course not.” His brushes his hand over my cheek, and I want to kiss him, but that would be weird. He embrace again and then he invites me for movie night. We watch his favorite movie, and during the romantic part, he actually kisses me. I couldn’t believe it but I just smiled big, because I loved him.

Home amazing is it to have a boyfriend who excepts you as you are, and being a superhero. Life is pretty perfect.
