Cascades

Step fast step lightly

Move gently move quickly

Trudge up and down

Turn left then around

The magestic reach of beautiful trees

The screaming cracks of knees

The scent of fresh air

Every noise raising a hair

The steps hard and beaten

Rivers and stomachs gurgling at too few calories eaten

Onward forward and march

Still the hunger for burgers and starch

At the end there is a cascade of falls

A divide of river hewn by walls

Tents put up and fires against black skies

Nothing is left but the happiness of sighs

And then the sun arises

Bringing with the day new surprises

Turn around and head back down

Take a bow at the end you earned your crown
