POEM STARTER
Compose a poem about the lost art of boredom.
Are we missing out on the beauty of being bored?
Practice
A penny apron
A penny for your thoughts
And a penny during practice scrimmage
A pilgrimage to buy a sour pickle
For two dollars and a nickel
A quarterback drops back
For they forgot the play
But will bet a dollar, they’d throw a dime
Because they practice before play
As fickle as loose change,
We do change, do progress
All the same
The author in the bleachers
Practices the same way
Even when the sky is arid
And the seats are sun-stained
On the field we lose too
Or on the canvas
It’s the same shade
Different tint
But there is no shame
Because just for love
Love of the game
The athlete, artist , poet
Will all convert
Making millions from
Loose change
**_We practice for potential
So we don’t lose change
The weight of indecision
Is a loose chain
The root is always numbed pain
So choose a route, and play
Choose a route and play.
