Motherly Love
Catherine’s mother had spent the last years of her life in this very room at Pennhurst Asylum, before she ended it all and left Catherine utterly alone.

**They said she had arrived at the Ward looking into some family history, but then very quickly had gone mad, tormented by night terrors and “the Faceless Woman.” **

**Bitter and Angry, Catherine wanted to - needed to- know what truly happened.**
****
**A bit nervous, Catherine reasoned with herself; it would only be a single night and she was determined to identify the source that stole her mother away -the source that took everything from her. **
****
**And after That first night, she would swear for the remainder of her brief life that her dead mother had in fact visited her, and given her an answer she would never have wished to know. **
****
**Catherine would later recount that a figure had appeared, and although she could no longer recall her mother’s face, she stated that there had been a deep familiar bond clawing at her heart and inside her mind. **

**She knew it was her mother - It had to be…**

**And As the feminine figure moved closer to Catherine, an icy cool chill cut through to her bones, the Woman’s features growing only more distorted, fear mounting and consuming Catherine. **

**Now screaming, she could feel her own mind unraveling, was this the “Faceless Woman”’ -it had to be... **

**And then the creature spoke - “Welcome home, my daughter.”**
