draft!

I stood at the edge of the peer. Water rushed over my feet, a shiver crawled down my spine. I regretted it the second my hands pushed her. I knew she couldn’t swim, so why would I do it? Time dragged on as I stood near the lake. The wind had a slight whisper to it. As if it was saying something. Calling me. Blaming me.

The next day at school, I walked through the halls. I ignored everyone I saw, I couldn’t bear the thought of someone figuring out what I had done yesterday night. My friends tried approaching me in the hall, but I would always turn into the closest room to stay away. During chemistry, police officers came into the class to investigate. Mia was found drowned in the lake on fifth avenue. I had done this, I had caused this, it was all my fault. The chief of the police force was staring at me as if he knew i pushed her, causing her death.

“May we speak to,” The police officer stopped and scanned the room, “Delilah Evan’s?” The way he said my name sent a shiver down my spine. It was like he was the wind that night. As if he was there to witness me kill a girl. I stood up and my legs immediately felt like spaghetti. I walked towards the officers. My nightmare had just begun.
