POEM STARTER
Submitted by Peyton Headrick
Write a Haiku expressing the paradox of trust, being capable of great beauty and great harm.
How will you use this very short poetic form to portray such a concept?
Echoes Of Pain
[related collection of haikus, mainly just focused on the ātrustā thing.]
I hate learning to trust,
the echoes of pain remain.
Iām lost to my mistrust.
Throw a rock at me,
I only hear the echoes.
Why teach me to trust?
I hate learning to trust,
but I was forced to learn.
It hurts, doesnāt it?
Iām lost to my mistrust,
I only hear the echoes
of the trust you gave.
The echoes of pain,
build in pain by memory,
echoes that you gave.
I hate learning trust.
The echoes of my pain last,
I canāt run away.
I hate learning to trust,
because you threw me away.
You only caused pain.
