POEM STARTER
Using twelve stanzas, write a poem about each month of the year.
The Year In Summary
New year beginning,
A chance to start anew,
Made it through year one,
Now it’s time for number two.
Love is in the air,
Romance floats around,
Hearts beat together,
Will you be my Valentine?
Green like the grass
Are the clothes I wear,
Green like leaves of trees,
Flowing in the breeze.
Spring starts,
Flowers bloom,
Rain may fall,
But there is no gloom.
Spring moves forward,
Summer draws near,
Though it’s still May,
Summer is not yet here.
School comes to an end
For the time being,
Summer begins,
And so does the fun!
Boom, boom, boom,
Fireworks bursting in the air,
Color fills the sky,
Joyful feelings sky high.
Autumn leaves turn
All sorts of colors,
Gorgeous arrays
In the autumn breeze.
September, oh my,
Why
Must school start up
Again?
Pumpkin smell,
Screams of fright,
Scares galore,
Halloween night!
November, ah yes,
Thanksgiving month,
Pumpkin pie,
A delicacy.
Snow falling,
White glistening on the ground,
Christmas is coming,
The year is soon to end too.
