POEM STARTER

Please, leave alone my broken soul

Write a vilanelle that includes this in it. A vilanelle is a nineteen-line poetic form consisting of five tercets followed by a quatrain.

Empty

I wished to not

But then I did

You ask me questions

I don’t want to hear you

So please leave my empty soul alone

It hurts to say,

No one really cares

They just ask for money

So I say again

Please, leave my empty soul alone

I like the premise of the poem, it painted a vivid picture of someone being taken advantage of. The only thing I would point out is that the poem didn’t follow the instructions provided or include the prompt line.
