Love On Both Sides

Another day at school, and the boys and girls were at it again. In seventh grade, life revolves around competing with the other gender. There where some leaders of each group. Kobe, the boys smartest and strongest was one of the most impactful boys. He secretly didn’t like the idea that there was conflict between their classmates. The main fighter on the boys side was Jaxson. He was rude, obnoxious, and disrespectful. On the other hand, Rose was the most popular girl. She was smart, friendly, and athletic. She was also beautiful.

Kobe was sitting in the back, watching as the tensions grew even higher. He angry when some of his closest friends got in on the cat calls and food throwing stood up angrily. Rose slipped away from the back to go put her lunch box back in her locker. Kobe did the same thing. They both were tired of the fighting. Rose was locking her locker, when she heard footsteps behind her. “Hi” Kobe greeted her. Rose was shy around Kobe, because he seemed nice, but then again, it could be some trick on the boys part. She said “Hi” with a shy smile. Kobe new that Rose was the girls leader. She seemed nice enough. Suddenly Rose said “We need to stop this madness.” She was surprised. It just seemed to burst out of her. Kobe’s head tilted, smiling slightly. “Tell me about it.”

Later, during dismissal, Rose and Kobe crossed paths. Rose slipped a piece of paper to Kobe. When he hopped in his moms car, he opened the piece of paper. It read “_Text Me” _with a phone number on it.

When he got home, he got on his phone and dialed the number Rose had written. Rose answered on the third ring.

After talking with Rose, Kobe liked her more and more. He liked working with her, and they both had the same friendly humor. Rose felt the same. They both liked each other, but they were both to shy to say it.

After that, the girls and the boys both seemed to calm down. School was easier and more enjoyable. About a week after their fist call, Kobe and Rose called each other more and more. One day Kobe willed up his courage, and went up to Rose. “Hey, I have two tickets to this concert, would you want to come?”
