Take Her Home

Sarah waited, feeling time slipping away along each “tick tack” of her car. Another random neighborhood she was directed to at 2 in the morning yet she couldn’t say no. How can she say no, or else, who will take Ali home? Her hook-up for sure would kick her out, and no one knows it clearer than Sarah that Ali had no penny left to pay for an Uber and no friend left to give her a ride. What a dumb choice for her to mess with her friends’ partners.

The living room lighted up and Sarah turned her head. Finally she’s coming out. Hope she got all her clothes or else they had to go back and get it like that last time. That guy’s wife for sure looked like she’s ready to eat Ali alive.

Another minute went by but no one came out. Sarah narrowed her eyes on one of the windows and saw that what she thought to be a house plant was Ali’s shadow. It’s definately her because, look at those curls! Earlier that day she had just bragged about her newly permed hair.

Sarah rushed out of the car and when she was about to sneak onto the porch. A shadow of a man came. He had a knife shaped thing in his hand. He slapped Ali but Ali fell straight to the ground like she’s unconscious or something. He held the knife up! He stabbed it downward! It was the part of floor where Ali’s body fell. Sarah can’t see but she saw Ali’s body disappear behind the windowpane, right there!

Blades of grass cutted Sarah’s ankle dripping bone-chilling dew on her skin. What should she do? How can she take Ali home now? One piece? Two pieces? Or maybe never?
