She Deserved It

I wasn't always like this. Now whenever I walk into the farmers market I get shameful looks upon me all because they know how I once took care of their "precious" Queen Cinderella. They do not know about my past. If they did I am sure that they would forget all that. But they will never listen. Even my beautiful daughters that should have been queens get ugly glances at them all because of how I raised Cinderella as, well, I would say a helpful worker around the house. She needed it since she was the daughter of rich parents. I bet she never got a speck of dirt on her till I came around. Anyways, I too had the perfect life. I was happily married and I was blessed with two gorgeous little girls that were my world. But then, the love of my life and provider, died of a terrible illness, leaving me as a widow and a single mom. I could not possibly live like that. Then I met Cinderellas dad. He was a kind gentleman who too had lost his spouse and also had a little girl for himself. He was a good man and looked like he would be able to provide for me and my daughters. So I married him and moved in with him and Cinderella. When I first saw the dreadful creature, with her fathers eyes and assuming she got her golden locks from her deceased mother, I knew she was not half as pretty as my two loves. The next few years were mostly uneventful. My new husband went on lots of trips and always brought back a special something for Cinderella. My daughters deserved much more then that. They were to be treated like princesses every single day not to be treated like pathetic bugs. So that’s when I took the liberty, when her sweet old dad passed, to treat her the way she should be treated. And now look at her. A queen after being raised by me. That is why that I treated her the way I did even though now everyone is now giving me dirty looks. She deserved it if your asking me.
