My Last Words

Before I opened my eyes to adjust to my surroundings, I knew I wasn’t where I wanted to be. Call it a sixth sense, this feeling deep within me.

I slowly lifted my eyelids, just to be met with a velvet darkness sky the only lights were the pin pricks of stars that’s were scattered across the night sky.

I urged my body up, slowly figuring out I wasn’t where laying on the sludge called Mud and various arrays of blades of grass almost as sharp as knives .

A graveyard that’s where I was.

The foreboding grave stones ever so small yet they all held a vast presence around them.

I approached over to the first stone. No name. No date. Nothing. Completely anonymous, only a the word. Help.

Stepping towards the parallel stone it said ‘ I knew this was a mistake’ A sense of uneasy restricted me, hairs pricked at the back of my neck. Something was wrong, yet I couldn’t place my finger on it, it was on the tip of my tongue yet it was as if it was non existent.

I couldn’t shake this feeling. I could feel my breathing become more rapid, becoming closer and closer.

‘I knew this was a mistake’
