The Devastation Of War
Lasers fired from all side, bombarding the creature. But it pressed on as if nothing harmed it. It was new, different then anything he’d ever faced before and part of him felt fear crept into his spine. He edged back inch by inch continuously firing his laser gun at the creatures face. But nothing hurt it.
He heard a call from his sergeant.
“Retreat!”
Without hesitation he turned his back to the massive mechanical monster and ran towards the ships preparing to take off.
He leaped inside. Followed by a dozen other troopers all gasping for air as they made it to the ship.
As they took off in to the sky he could see the battlefield and the devastation in its totality. It’s was heart wrenching, thousands of soldiers dead bodies piled on top of one another. There were some still alive lifting their hands for help.
