Gary kicked the couch repeatedly with his heels, his arms folded across his stomach hoping to irritate the old man. He hated being watched by Mr Carlson, he was old and boring and had no games or toys at all. “I’m hungry.” Gary said. Mr Carlson looked up with that annoying smile, he always smiled and Gary couldn’t figure out why. Was it payment. “Sure.” Mr Carlson said. “What you feel like having.” Gary hummed for a few seconds as if he were thinking. “Got any fruity pebbles.” Gary knew the old man didn’t have that cereal but he didn’t care. “Sorry, I don’t. There anything else you got a taste for.”
Kevin starred idly at his ship as it laid completely destroyed after entering the strange planet’s atmosphere. He looked around and seen no5ing but empty desert, the logs had said this was a deserted planet and no life existed. That thought stuck in his head. There was a reason why life was non existent here. During his training he never took the time to learn much about this planet and he hated himself for not studying harder. He felt his stomach growl, he needed food and now. But the desert land was vast. Where would he even begin to go or look. Something moved in the distance, sending him a panick.
Candice starred at the letter intently, a thousand different things running through her mind. Jack really did love, she thought it was a simple crush. But it was much more. The letter was like a poem, a flood of his emotions pouring on the page, did he mean to give his to her or keep it hidden forever. She heard the knob on the door twist open when she spun around to see jack standing in the doorway with his mouth open and eyes wide. He looked down at the piece of paper in her hand then back to her. “Where did you get that.” Jack asked. Candice fumbled her words turning about as if trying to find a place to hide the letter. “It was in your dresser.” “What are you doing looking through my things.” He demanded as he marched across the room snatching the letter from her hand. “I’m sorry…I was just looking for a pen.” He looked her in the eyes with those puppy dog eyes and turned away from her. “I had no idea you felt that way jack.” Candice said. “
Lasers fired from all side, bombarding the creature. But it pressed on as if nothing harmed it. It was new, different then anything he’d ever faced before and part of him felt fear crept into his spine. He edged back inch by inch continuously firing his laser gun at the creatures face. But nothing hurt it. He heard a call from his sergeant. “Retreat!” Without hesitation he turned his back to the massive mechanical monster and ran towards the ships preparing to take off. He leaped inside. Followed by a dozen other troopers all gasping for air as they made it to the ship. As they took off in to the sky he could see the battlefield and the devastation in its totality. It’s was heart wrenching, thousands of soldiers dead bodies piled on top of one another. There were some still alive lifting their hands for help.
