WRITING OBSTACLE
Your character has been kidnaped by a pirate and trapped in a dark dungeon below deck…
How can they use their other senses to determine where their abductor is taking them?
Dark Waves
The ship rocked, water sloshed around my feet. My boots soaked. The damp brig was dimly lit by a swaying lamp hung on the pitched ceiling.
The cell was cramped, rusty bars separated me from freedom. The water crashed hard against the side of the ship, high above my cell. I cringed as the ship creaked.
“I see our guest is enjoying herself.” Came his sharp voice from the entryway. I hadn’t heard him sneak in. He grinned, gold and black teeth bared. His curly dark hair and mustache surprisingly well kept, for a pirate. He swaggered to the front of the cell, keys jingled on his belt.
“Have you come to torment me again..?” I snapped. I grabbed the rusty bars, the rough metal dug into my hands.
“Tsk tsk, you wound me, love.” He clicked his tongue and feigned a frown. His mustache drooping.
“What else would you be here for then, pirate. You murder and harm, that is all you’re capable of.”
“Your skin is far too soft and valuable to wound.” He gently pulled my fingers from the bars, and held my hands in his. He kissed my hand, like a gentleman would. “And in fact, my lady. I am capable of **much** more.”
His grip tightened, his skin rough against mine. His blue eyes grew dark, something stirred.
I ripped my hand away, backing away from the bars.
“You intend to sell me..” I muttered.
“We’ll see, that all depends on you.” He flashed a grin, before turning on his heel and leaving the brig.
I let out a stuttering breath, my hands clammy. There was only one place where pirates dealt in flesh. The White Cove.
