Lucas looked back at Mandy before he left. He didn’t want to leave her like this but he knew there was no other way. Against his own wishes, he walked back towards the girl he had cared about so much and gently planted a kiss to her brow.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered into her messy blonde hair that sprawled about her pillow. “I’m so sorry.”

He turned back and once again turned the knob on the door and walked out. Leaving his life behind
