They say anxiety is living in the future

Depression is living in the past

That in itself is the burden of memory

There's no telling how long depression will last

One day you will turn elderly

And you won't remember the past

Alzheimer's runs in my family

My grandfather had it and I fear I will too

There are some memories that I would love to forget

Even though I've had a stroke I have not lost my memory yet but, remembering that I was a professional athlete

And now I need help getting dressed makes that memory a burden that unfortunately caused suicidal ideation
