Beating down by Helios of old, world worn Will,

An anomaly of a scorched age, lunged to hill.

Endless sweltering from a grimacing menace,

Who hounded the denizens of dried out Venice,

city simmering in constant rancor of men.

Seeking solace from endless meaningless playpen.

Some sanctuary, haven of anonymity,

From rays of hot daggers and tedium that free

Him to meditate in cool sobriety sweet.

Menacing mountain seems to offer from the heat.

As he in dear despair spied cracks in the facade

The cracks grew in stature to be caverns quite broad.

His senses dulled by scorching rays revitalized

By soothing dark shadows he dreamed of and surmised.
