POEM STARTER

Write a poem about a time that you forgot something.

It could be an important event, a mundane appointment, or a personal belonging. Whatever it is, try to tap into the emotions you feel when you realise you've forgotten something.

Forgot

Darkness envelopes the room

As I struggle to find the switch

It’s like I’ve entered a tomb

The silence makes my ears itch

I flip the switch and on goes the light

It was just across the way

A crowd of people, my face frozen in fright

I had forgot my own birthday
